Learn 'n Jam Sessions
Learn 'n Jam is a unique way to learn or improve your skills with many stringed instruments. I began to develop this to help a fellow rhythm guitar player learn to play along with the Midwest Cowboy Ministries team during Cowboy Church. The results have been great! He practices at home to the Practice CDs I have recorded for the lessons. His skills have improved by leaps and bounds, while he learns to play songs that we will actually use for church services and in nursing homes for chapel services. I remember the lessons I took... I became bored very quickly, playing the same song over and over, to learn to change from one chord to another. I never wanted to play those songs again. As long as you can chord on your instrument, you can use Learn 'n Jam. I even have diagrams for Bass Guitar. You can purchase the materials if you are unable to come to the Sessions in Osage, Iowa. Learn 'n Jam for Adults
Learn 'n Jam for Adults is held almost weekly on Thursday nights at 7:00 PM. This is currently held in the living room of our Victorian home at 1103 Main Street, Osage, Iowa. Please park just off Main on 11th Street and come to the door on that side of our home.This may move to a larger venue and you can access the events and details on the Midwest Cowboy Ministries page. If there is not event on a Thursday, then it has been canceled due to a conflict. (Use the link below)
Chord Diagrams & Music Provided
To help my friend learn to play better, I developed a system in which he could play along with the basic chords in red and when he learned the basic chords, he could add in the optional chords in blue. That allowed him to play along in the jam sessions and even for Cowboy Church Services. All of the songs I use can be used in Church Services. They vary from Old Hymns to Newer Hymns, and Southern Gospel to Bluegrass Gospel. Many will be familiar and many will be new to you!
Learn 'n Jam for Kids
Learn 'n Jam for Kids is held almost weekly on Sunday afternoons at 2:00 PM. This is currently held in the living room of our Victorian home at 1103 Main Street, Osage, Iowa. Please park just off Main on 11th Street and come to the door on that side of our home. Practice CDs are Provided
I record each song in slow, medium, and fast tempos and put those songs on a CD for you to practice with at home. There are usually 8 to 10 songs recorded in different speeds. This is enough to fill the entire CD. The great news is that you rarely get bored when practicing. You can start with the slow speeds and then pick up the tempo as you learn. In the beginning, each CD has all of the songs in the same Key. As you advance I include more than one Key on each CD.
